Train Travel in Argentina

Did you even know there were trains in Argentina?

With the excess of amazing buses – why take a train?

Well – the buses are luxurious, with their cama (bed) feature, such as the first class sleeper beds on flights – and most provide great food and wine and champagne, but – with comfort comes a high price – and there is no exception in Argentina. Argentina bus prices are actually higher than in Canada.

So Trains? What options are there?

There are various routes around Argentina. Most are based with a start/end destination in Buenos Aires with stops along the way.  The train travel websites are: FerrobairesFerrocentral, Trenesdellitoral, Tren Patagonico although they are in Spanish – simply google translate it unless you are lucky enough to Speak Spanish in South America. I have listed the destinations, departure times and arrivals and costs by class (in ARG Pesos). Never travel by Turista overnight unless you want to stay awake the entire night bouncing 15 cm off your bench seat every 5 seconds. Always choose Pullman/Primera for a personal seat that is good enough – if only a little chilly. Always bring a blanket/WARM clothes. So Lets list them:
